چکیده
This paper reports the performance of series- and shunt-connected self-excited reluctance generators (SERG). In addition to two stator connections, an analysis was carried out on rotor configurations (with without a cage) combination resulting in four different generator topologies. The loss load transient characteristics each configuration were studied for pure resistive R-L loads. It is shown that same machine size, speed exciting capacitor value, with cage preserves better wave shape following disturbance than cageless machine. At unity power factor, shunt can deliver 0.691pu output power, at 1.97% regulation; its series counterpart only delivers 0.589 pu 2.05%. study demonstrates while have regulation supports higher loads factors, show superior terms damping transients.

Internal Fault Detection, Location, and Classification in Stator Winding of the Synchronous Generators Based on the Terminal Voltage Waveform
In this paper, a novel method is presented for detection and classification of the faultyphase/region in the stator winding of synchronous generators on the basis of the resulting harmoniccomponents that appear in the terminal voltage waveforms. Analytical results obtained through DecisionTree (DT) show that the internal faults are not only detectable but also they can be classified andthe rela...

In this paper a sliding-mode torque and flux control is designed for encoderless synchronous reluctance motor drive. The sliding-mode plus PI controllers are designed in the stator-flux field oriented reference frame which is able to track the mentioned reference signals with a minimum pulsations in the state condition. In addition, with these controllers a fast dynamic response is also achieve...

متن کاملA Simple Pattern Recognition Approach for Monitoring Incipient Stator Faults in Salient-pole Synchronous Generators
This paper studies the effect of incipient stator faults in salient-pole synchronous generators and its detection using a simple pattern recognition methodology. A theoretical linear model for the synchronous generator is first developed to provide the relationships between stator and rotor harmonic currents and possible incipient faults on stator electric circuits. All theoretical findings wer...
